Job Purpose Summary:
The incumbent will be responsible for security systems, procedures and other guidelines are implemented, and standards fully comply with the requirements to ensure security of both local and international branches. Provides technical and administrative support for security access control systems such as Colour Under Vehicle Scanners, Number Plate Recognition Systems, Automated Booms and Barriers, CCTV, X-ray Screening and Intrusion Alarm.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities by Dimensions:
- Shareholder & Financial): – Implements KPI’s and best practices for Technical Projects. – Promote cost consciousness and efficiency and enhance productivity, to minimise cost, avoid waste, and optimise benefits for the bank. – Act within the limits of the powers delegated to the incumbent.
- Customer (Internal & External): – Analyse situations and branches’ concerns and suggest actions that can help resolve problems. – Use defined internal processes and always strive to meet and exceed service standards. – Understand the international branches’ difficulties and escalate to Safety & Security management to provide solutions and help them secure the area better. – Report all customer related security incidents and communicate to employees and external customers all security procedures that will be taken to resolve issues. – Resolve security system issues of a routine technical nature. – Conduct Basic fault finding and minor maintenance on security systems. – Works in accordance to the established Policies and Procedures.
- Internal (Processes, Products, Regulatory: – Monitor, note, report and investigate suspicious persons and situations, security hazards and unusual or illegal activity in international and local QNB premises. – Carry out spot checks on contractor employees working at various international QNB locations, check their security passes to make sure individuals have clearance for presence in the area. – Conduct security checks to ensure security equipment are functional (such as break-in alarms, CCTV monitoring, burglary lock down systems…etc.). – Supervise routine, scheduled and emergency safety of all equipment & electrical/ mechanical systems which are necessary for efficient QNB operations. – Write reports of daily activities and irregularities, such as equipment or property damage, theft, presence of unauthorized persons, or unusual occurrences and submit to AVP Technical Projects. – Verify & ensure the record of all security equipment delivered to Branches and monitor the maintenance cost accordingly. – Act as point of contact for international branch related security queries. – Follow up the security policies and procedures in all buildings in the bank, check the security equipment and carry out maintenance. – Provide training to security guards in discharging their duties. – Compile data and statistics for the security monthly report. – Monitor security access control systems to detect any risk or deviances from screening policy/procedure. If deviances are detected, to alarm and activate approved response activities. – Enforce security access & egress control procedures, by allowing only authorized vehicles persons or baggage to enter to, or exit from the QNB Facility. – Maintain Preventive maintenance schedules for security access control systems, to ensure maintenance is performed on schedule. Record and track non – routine maintenance and routine breakdown maintenance, to minimize downtime – Assist the Technical Projects team to prepare results of data analyses in the form of charts, graphics, statistics, using standard software programs. – Handles a variety of correspondence and documents including records, reports, statistics, etc. pertaining to gate passes
- Learning & Knowledge: – Comply with established Security Procedures and ensure adherence to the guidelines set by the AVP Technical Projects. – Create necessary frameworks and systems to enable international & local security team members and individuals to deliver and better assist/ protect customers and employees. – Diverse functional field requiring a working knowledge of office administration, budgetary, training and technical management. – The incumbent shall have proximate knowledge of the Security measures designing to support security systems. – Provide security support to differing geographical locations – each requiring individual and unique security solutions. – Able to handle confidential documents such as commercial information and sensitive security correspondence. – Proactively identify areas for professional development of self and undertake development activities. – Seek out opportunities to remain current with all developments in professional field.
- Legal, Regulatory, and Risk Framework Responsibilities: – Comply with all applicable legal, regulatory and internal compliance requirements including, but not limited to, Group Compliance Policies and Procedures (AML & CTF, Sanctions Policy, Data Protection Policy, Fraud Control Policy, Whistle Blowing Policy, Conflict of Interest and Insider Dealing Policy). – Understand and effectively perform your role under the Three Lines of Defence principle to identify measure, monitor, manage and report risks. – Ensure systematic good outcomes for clients in accordance with Conduct Risk policy. – Support the framework of RCSA, KRI, Incident reporting and remediation, as appropriate, in accordance with the Operational Risk Management requirements. – Maintain appropriate knowledge to ensure full qualification to undertake the role. – Complete all mandatory training provided by the Bank, attain, and maintain the required levels of competence. – Attend mandatory (internal and external) seminars as instructed by the Bank.
- Other: – Ensure high standards of confidentiality to safeguard commercially sensitive information. – Understand the integration of Divisional plans and support Departmental plans. – Establish targets and designs systems to fulfil the strategic objectives & Mission of the Bank. – Regular contacts with Corporation personnel, End – Users and Visitors at various levels, during the screening of vehicles, persons or baggage. – Maintain utmost confidentiality concerning customer and internal bank information obtained during the course of business and provide such information on a need to know basis only to Senior Management of QNB, Audit and Compliance functions, and relevant Regulators. – Maintain high professional standards to uphold QNB’s reputation and to strengthen its market leadership position. – All other ad hoc duties/activities related to QNB that management might request from time to time.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- University graduate (Bachelors) preferably with a Major in Marketing, Banking, Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business Administration or Information Technology (related field of study).
