Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Associate Engineer – Structures to join our team! In this role you will get to design various structural elements of different types of structures including bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure-related buildings/structures.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Detailed structural design of component of bridges, tunnels, underpasses, retaining walls, car parks, and public infrastructure-related buildings/structures.
- Produce design drawings, calculations reports and specifications.
- Supervise CAD team as per project task assigned.
- Track the progress of the assigned design and report to the Senior/Principal Engineer of the status and any issues that may arise during the design development.
- Support other engineering activities as required by the Senior/Principal engineer.
- Perform other responsibilities associated with this position as may be appropriate.
- Be self-motivated and remain under close supervision with superiors on committed tasks.
What Required Skills You’ll Bring:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Structural Engineering with no related work experience.
- Candidate shall have the ability to apply basic engineering principles, techniques, and analysis within the structure discipline.
- Familiar with the core engineering software packages as those are mentioned below: Midas Civil, CSi Bridge, SAP2000, Structural Bridge Design (Auto Desk), AutoCAD, Bentley RAM connections/elements, Prokon.
- Basic knowledge of the following design codes: British standards, Eurocode, AASHTO LRFD Bridge Design Specifications, Ashghal IAN 009 and other structural design related Interim Advice Notes.
- Business-level English language skills sufficient to produce well-written reports with organized structure and minimal need for grammatical corrections, and to hold articulate verbal communications.
- Candidate will be requested to proceed with the MME registration once joining the company.
What Desired Skills You’ll Bring:
- Master’s Degree in Structural Engineering is highly preferred.
- Familiarity with Revit software.
- Good communication skills in English both spoken and written
