About the role:

This role is responsible to optimize utilization of available capacity, ensuring efficient scheduling of flights and seamless integration of new technologies into Airport operations. In parallel the role oversees the production of forecasts and operational performance reports relevant to airport operations and MATAR divisions within the tactical and post operations periods. It also ensures optimal performance and drives the advancement of KPls relevant to scheduling and airport operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Collaborate with airport authorities and stakeholders to address capacity challenges.
  • Support business and technological improvement activities, in alignment with strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee scheduling of all flights, ensuring alignment with airport capacity and operational constraints.
  • Address any scheduling conflicts proactively, minimizing disruptions to passengers and operations.
  • Ensure flights are scheduled to make best use of airport capacity while minimizing delays and disruptions.
  • Ensure compliance of MATAR’s airport operations systems i.e. Airport Management System, against safety limitations and operations concept.
  • Anticipate through forecasting activities, potential scheduling challenges, especially during peak periods and devise pre-emptive strategies in collaboration with MATAR’s divisions.
  • Regularly track and report on key performance indicators (KP ls) pertinent to traffic trends, airport operations, and airport capacity utilization.
  • Identify and evaluate emerging technologies that can enhance airport capacity management, flight scheduling, and airport operations.
  • Ensure seamless integration of new technologies into existing systems, prioritizing solutions that enhance capacity optimization and airport operations.
  • Oversee the implementation of scheduling and airport capacity software and tools, collaborating with IT terms as needed.
  • Collaborate with key airport users and stakeholders to ensure that operational capacities can support demand within the targeted KPI’s.
  • Collaborate with the IT department to ensure seamless integration of new systems and tools.
  • Manage and mentor a team that conducts the activities of scheduling, forecasting and airport traffic reporting.
  • Foster strong relationships with internal teams, airport authorities, airlines, and technology vendors.
  • Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.

About you:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with minimum 10 years of job-related experience i.e. airport operation control center, airport scheduling, airline operation control or airline scheduling/slot department.
  • Previous exposure to transformation projects, change management and application of technology in airport operations.
  • Proven business acumen and ability to support data driven decision making
