Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit a Head of Early Years to join Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar.

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a newly established IB World School in Doha, Qatar. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head of Early Years to lead our Early Years provision, creating a joyful, stimulating and safe environment where our youngest learners are inspired to explore, discover and grow within the IB PYP Early Years framework.

The Role

We seek an individual to join as Head of Early Years where your focus will be:

  • Leading and managing all aspects of the Early Years provision, modelling outstanding practice and setting the highest standards
  • Ensuring high-quality implementation of the IB PYP Early Years framework across the unit
  • Developing a play-based, child-initiated learning environment that nurtures curiosity, independence and a love of learning
  • Leading, mentoring and developing the Early Years teaching team through coaching, learning walks and CPD
  • Building strong, trusting partnerships with parents and families through regular communication and engagement events
  • Overseeing assessment, observation and reporting for Early Years students, including learning portfolio documentation
  • Monitoring and evaluating the quality of Early Years provision and driving continuous improvement
  • Ensuring all safeguarding, health and safety and child protection requirements are met at all times
  • Collaborating with the PYP Coordinator and SLT on whole-school curriculum coherence and school improvement

The Successful Candidate Will Possess

  • A recognised Early Years or primary teaching qualification
  • Significant experience in an Early Years leadership role, ideally within an IB or international school
  • Strong knowledge of the IB PYP Early Years framework and play-based, inquiry-led pedagogy
  • A deep understanding of child development and child-initiated learning approaches
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build strong partnerships with parents and families
  • Experience leading, developing and inspiring Early Years teams
  • A passionate commitment to safeguarding, child welfare and inclusive practice
  • International school experience desirable
