Nord Anglia Education is looking to recruit a Head of Primary to join Etqan Global Academy (EGA) in Doha, Qatar.

Etqan Global Academy (EGA) is a newly established IB World School in Doha, Qatar, offering the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP). We are seeking an inspirational and experienced Head of Primary to lead our primary school community, championing transdisciplinary, inquiry-based learning and ensuring every student thrives within the PYP framework.

The Role

We seek an individual to join as Head of Primary where your focus will be:

  • Providing strategic and operational leadership for the primary school in line with the IB PYP philosophy and EGA’s School Strategic Plan
  • Ensuring the highest quality implementation and ongoing development of the IB Primary Years Programme
  • Leading, developing and supporting a talented primary teaching team through coaching, appraisal and CPD
  • Driving school improvement through monitoring, evaluation, data analysis and collaborative planning
  • Building a strong, nurturing school community where every student feels safe, valued and challenged
  • Working in close partnership with the PYP Coordinator to strengthen programme delivery and prepare for IB accreditation
  • Fostering strong relationships with parents and the wider school community
  • Overseeing assessment, reporting and curriculum planning across the primary school
  • Promoting student agency, inquiry-based learning and the IB learner profile throughout primary

The Successful Candidate Will Possess

  • A recognised primary teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or equivalent) and a relevant degree
  • Significant senior leadership experience within an IB PYP school
  • Deep knowledge and understanding of the IB Primary Years Programme and transdisciplinary pedagogy
  • A proven track record of raising student outcomes and leading school improvement
  • Experience developing and coaching high-quality teaching teams
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal and organisational skills
  • A strong commitment to safeguarding and child welfare
  • International school experience, ideally within the Middle East (desirable)
