Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design and delivery of building services across industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • lead the development of safe, compliant, and cost-effective engineering solutions in accordance with international standards such as NFPA, ASHRAE, and local regulations.

Engineering Design & Technical

  • Lead the design and development of:
    • Fire protection systems (hydrants, sprinklers, foam, clean agent systems)
    • Domestic water supply systems (potable and non-potable)
    • Drainage systems (sanitary, stormwater, oily water, condensate)
  • Perform system calculations, including:
    • Firewater demand and hydraulic calculations
    • Pipe sizing and system design optimization
  • Prepare engineering deliverables:
    • Design basis reports, calculations, and specifications
    • System schematics, layouts, and detailed drawings
    • Equipment datasheets and technical documentation

Fire Protection Engineering

  • Design and review:
    • Firewater networks (pumps, storage, distribution)
    • Sprinkler, water spray, hydrant, and hose reel systems
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA standards and local civil defense requirements
  • Develop fire protection philosophies, layouts, and system calculations

Plumbing & Drainage Systems

  • Design complete plumbing systems, including:
    • Domestic cold and hot water systems
    • Utility water supply for maintenance and operational use
  • Design and coordinate drainage systems:
    • Sanitary drainage
    • Stormwater systems and discharge arrangements
  • Interface with external utilities for water supply and drainage tie-ins

Education – Qualifications, Accreditation, Training

  • Full-Time Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering from an accredited university
  • MME (Ministry of Municipality and Environment) engineering accreditation is a mandatory requirement. Candidates not holding this accreditation must be willing to achieve this within the probationary period.
  • Chartered Professional Engineer (CPEng) status or undertaking the same will be an advantage

Industry Specific Experience

  • Highly experienced Senior Building Services Engineer specializing in fire protection, water supply, and drainage systems to support the design and delivery of building services across industrial and infrastructure projects.
  • Engineering experience in the same or similar industry, including experience in multi-disciplinary projects and teams.
  • Good knowledge of discipline design/engineering with sufficient experience in different discipline areas.
