Reviewing job orders to make the right adjustments to the printing machine

Prepare, Set-up, Operate and Maintain the press:

Installation of the printing plate with the images to be printed and adjusts the pressure at which the machine prints

Loads paper and adjust the press to the paper size

Feeds paper through the press cylinders and adjust feed and tension controls

Fills ink and dampening solution fountains of press

Adjust to manage ink distribution, speed and temperature

Adjusts press machine parts

Regularly inspect press machine for any malfunctions.

Performs maintenance task on the printing machine

Performs troubleshooting on minor machine issues such as creaking sounds etc.

Coordinate with the in-house maintenance team for any machine malfunctions

Cleaning of the printing press and peripherals

Other duties may be assigned by the Supervisor

Records machine error history and how it was corrected as a reference for analysis to easily identify future errors

Monitor and analyse machine behaviour from time to time

Coaches and mentors subordinate when required

Train press operators and share techniques and best practices

Set time aside to do online research on specific machine being used to acquire additional information other than available in manual.

Initiate interest to cross train with other operators handling different press machine to enhance skills

Certificate of any program in Printing Technology (Preferred)

Minimum 3 years of experience handling KBA or Manroland Machine (Manroland 700)

Familiar with installing different machine parts of the press such as plates, rollers and feed guides and adjusting them to meet the required result

Attention to details

Technical knowledge of the printing machines

Possess good mathematical skills necessary to compute percentages, weights and measures and to calculate the amount of ink and paper needed to process jobs

Ability to communicate

Ability to work well with others
