Responsibilities:
Our newest opportunity is for a talented BIM Engineer to join our award-winning team in Doha, Qatar.
This critical role will be supporting 3D design models and will be responsible for developing, managing, and coordinating BIM models for roads, highways, and related infrastructure works. The role ensures the generation of 2D drawings from models, maintains high standards for BIM implementation, performs clash detection within the discipline, and ensures coordination for multidisciplinary infrastructure projects.
We envisage success in this role to include:
- Coordinating the overall BIM implementation within the roads/infrastructure discipline to support multidisciplinary project delivery.
- Managing the assigned project BIM/CAD team, including quality assurance and quality control of models and drawings.
- Assisting in the creation of BIM deliverables, model federation, clash detection reports, BIM quality control plans, and design reviews in addition to supporting asset management BIM implementation.
- Developing and managing 3D models for roads, highways, earthworks, drainage, and related infrastructure using Civil 3D (and other relevant tools).
- Conducting internal clash detection to ensure road alignments, utilities, and other infrastructure elements do not interfere with other disciplines.
- Generating accurate 2D drawings (plans, profiles, cross-sections, details) from BIM models in compliance with client requirements and company standards.
- Supporting the implementation of BIM Execution Plans (BEP) for BIM deliverable production within the roads/infrastructure discipline.
- Leading BIM standards, modelling workflows, and digital delivery processes during the project lifecycle.
- Providing technical support and troubleshooting for software functionality issues.
- Creating templates/libraries as per client’s requirements.
- Providing training for modelers when needed and overseeing onboarding of BIM modelers to projects.
- Acting as the focal point of contact between the BIM Management team and the project design team.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this dynamic opportunity, we envision that you will have a minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and more than 10 years of experience with at least 3 years on roads/highways/infrastructure projects.
Furthermore, you should demonstrate:
- Strong proficiency in Autodesk Civil 3D, Infraworks, Navisworks, and other relevant BIM tools.
- Familiarity with international BIM standards (ISO 19650 or similar).
- Experience in clash detection, model coordination, and multidisciplinary BIM workflows.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills.
- Gulf experience and knowledge of Qatar’s infrastructure projects is an advantage.
