In Qatar, Siemens Mobility is currently operating and maintaining the Education City Tram System, the world’s first low-floor, catenary-free tram system. It utilizes a Hybrid Energy System (HES), which combines supercapacitors and batteries to power the tram between charging points along the route. Spanning 11 km, the network connects the North and South Campuses of Education City with 19 Siemens Avenio trams, enhancing sustainable mobility in the region.

What Are My Responsibilities?

• Operate tram vehicles in accordance with company operating rules, procedures, and applicable road traffic regulations.
• Ensure the safety of passengers, pedestrians, and other road users at all times.
• Deliver high-quality customer service, providing assistance and information to passengers as required.
• Identify, report, and escalate incidents, defects, and anomalies related to rolling stock and equipment to the Operations Control Center (OMCC).
• Maintain thorough knowledge of EC Tram rolling stock, enabling basic fault finding and rectification in line with operations and maintenance procedures.
• Report to Line Supervisors and Operations Controllers, and comply with all operational instructions, orders, and directives.
• Communicate clearly and effectively with passengers, supervisors, and Operations Controllers.
• Support and participate in safety and quality audits when required.

What Do I Need to Qualify for This Job?

• Good physical condition and compliance with Fitness Class 1 medical requirements.
• Completion of at least 10 years of formal school education.
• Holder of a valid Qatar driving license (car, bus, or truck) for a minimum of two years.
• Good understanding of rail public transport operations, rules, and procedures.
• Strong analytical, observation, and reporting skills.
• Ability to work under pressure while strictly complying with operational rules and procedures.
• Good command of spoken and written English.
• Ability to adapt quickly to changing operational situations.
• Strong team-player mindset, with a results-oriented and proactive attitude.
• High level of attention to detail, customer focus, and safety awareness in railway and road environments.
• Very good communication skills.
