New Capability Components Engineer – Workshop

About the job

As a New Capability Components Engineer you will be responsible for preparing in-house capability development projects across various workshop technical domains. Prepares business cases, extracts and analyzes data, defines technical requirements and tracks the progress of tasks. Focuses on execution of project deliverables in a timely manner

Operational Accountabilities;

  • Contribute to the development of new in-house capabilities in component maintenance under workshops.
  • Identify potential capability opportunities in coordination with the Senior New Component Capability Engineer.
  • Define technical requirements for proposed capabilities, including equipment, Bill of Material
  • (Spares/Consumables), tooling, facility, and special process needs.
  • Perform cost-benefit analysis based on component shop visit forecast, and able to extract the required data.
  • Draft or revise Technical Procedures Manual in compliance with regulatory and OEM standards.
  • Provide support to workshop Engineers and Technicians during capability implementation where needed.
  • Support ongoing projects and initiatives for lean processes in workshops.
  • Perform other department duties related to his / her position as directed by the Head of the Department

Qualification and experience:

  • High School Qualification / Vocational Qualification /Diploma or Equivalent (Type of Diploma Based on Role) with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience OR
  • Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with Minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
  • Experience in workshops including minimum 03 years in New Component Capability Development.
  • Expertise in one or more of the following technical domains in aircraft component maintenance (Mechanical, Electro-mechanical, Electronics, Cabin Interior, Aircraft Structures).
  • Delivered a full end-to-end capability development project.
  • Preferred; Developed new capabilities for over 20 component part numbers, through a combination of new workshop projects and existing capability extensions.
  • Established at least one new workshop from initiation through handover.

Job Specific Skills

  • Broad understanding of theoretical and practical skills relating to the operation and maintenance of a wide range of aircraft components.
  • Familiar with part 145 QCAA, EASA, FAA, and ICAO regulations.
  • Detailed knowledge of workshop capabilities and procedures
  • Proficient with Ms Word, Excel, PowerPoint.
  • Preferred; Basic Computer Software’s and proficient with MS Office and Visio.
