Parsons is looking for an amazingly talented Senior Landscape Architect to join our team! In this role you will have the opportunity for the overall supervision of the landscape architecture design for public realm, roadways, public parks, planning and infrastructure projects.

What You’ll be Doing:

  • The underlying focus of the Senior Landscape Architect should be providing the utmost satisfaction to the client via ensuring projects are functional, aesthetically pleasing, code compliant, completed within the allocated period of time and within the budget that has been assigned.
  •  Expected to operate under a certain degree of autonomy using the staff and resources allocated to them to provide high quality service to the client. Directly accountable to the project’s Project Manager and ultimately accountable to the Landscape Design Manager. Required to maintain strong client relationships, meet project financial goals, and ensure the project team is providing high levels of client service and satisfaction.
  • Take a lead on design of both hard and soft landscape for architectural and urban design projects as well as competitions. They will work closely with design groups and external landscape consultants to support project teams in creating sustainable landscape designs; Promote good landscape design throughout the practice; research and advise on indigenous/suitable vegetation on projects; Manage the design teams through the research into project specific landscape design issues; contribute, or otherwise assist, as required thorough knowledge of and compliance with both the company’s procedures and local landscape architectural standards and requirements.
  • Able to demonstrate ability to undertake the above responsibilities independently.
  • Independently performs a wide variety of conventional and complex assignments by applying landscape architecture design practices, standards, and techniques which requires a fundamental knowledge of landscape including softscape, hardscape, planting plans, irrigation design, grading plans, and graphics.
  • The incumbent at this level is required to regularly exercises discretion and independent judgment in developing original designs and is proficient in the utilization of standard landscape architectural techniques.
  • Manages all aspects of assigned landscape architecture projects, including supervising staff, meeting deliverable dates, communicating with clients and meeting the approved budgets with minimal direction from the project’s Project Manager or Landscape Design Manager.
  • Performs a variety of assignments such as conducting landscape architectural studies, developing design concepts and design criteria, and preparing related reports. Able to manage sensitive and sometimes confidential information.
  • Develops design solutions and prepares high quality presentation drawings, renderings, 3D models and animations with the assistance of other team members.
  • Provides technical guidance to CADD Designer/Drafters working on the same project.
  • Prepares technical packages from concept design, through detailed design to tender and contract documentation.
  • Provides support and production assistance to team members.
  • Completes other duties as assigned.

What Required Skills You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Landscape Architecture from a an accredited University.
  • A minimum of 10 years’ experience in landscape architecture design for public realm, roadways, public parks, planning and infrastructure projects, preferably with work experience in the GCC.
  • Shall be a self-motivated individual who is able to take responsibility and demonstrates initiative and a proactive approach to daily tasks with strong hand graphic and design skills.
  • Proficient in Adobe Indesign is required.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD, Adobe Photoshop, Land F/X, Lumion and Illustrator.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Ability to write technical documents and correspondence effectively.
  • Licensed Landscape Architect (active status) is preferred.
  • MMUP/UPDA Certification or ability to obtain is beneficial.
