About the role:
Manage a large number of stakeholders on critical issues, and guide the Mechanical team to develop and implement technical solutions. Ensure the applied strategy is proper for the maintenance of the mechanical assets and upkeep of all mechanical systems for the seamless operation of the airport without disruption. To ensure accordance of all maintenance as per equipment manufacturer recommendations and statutory requirements/regulations (e.g NFPA, IEEE, Kahramaa). Plan, allocate and manage all resources for an effective and optimal output with minimal wastage and mechanical assets that meet availability targets.
Key responsibilities
- Oversee the team to implement department asset management strategy in liaison with multiple stakeholders to ensure that all the mechanical assets at HIA meet or exceed the required performance levels.
- Create business case and secure budget to replace, upgrade and expand mechanical assets by developing and evaluating the content and quality of the documents to support the growth of HIA.
- Oversee management of a capital financed projects by engaging with all parties in order to guarantee that the target results of the projects are achieved.
- Manage team involvement in large expansion projects by establishing collaboration between the FM team and expansion project team with the effort to incorporate facilities management experience into the projects.
- Identify and manage department risks to mitigate potential impact on airport operation. Makes critical decisions related to mechanical systems with sound understanding of technical requirements, business needs and risks and mitigation measures to support business continuity of all stakeholder facilities.
- Plan and manage relevant standard operating procedures for all emergency situations – plan and manage relevant emergency operating procedures and SOP’s through involved teams, and train staff to have the operational readiness during emergency events and also safe operations during normal working conditions. Ensure strict adherence to KPI parameters.
- Manage asset condition surveys though frequent analysis to ensure that the asset ratings are frequently updated in alignment with the HIA Asset Management System (AMS).
- Review the maintenance integration deliverables from the various project teams by evaluating the content and quality of the documents, to ensure that the required, correct information / data is communicated to the appropriate HIA FM delivery team(s) and the assets are managed effectively.
- Prepare monthly maintenance report for the Management.
- Liaise with the Planning team to formulate annual master maintenance schedule and deliver on time and to the required quality.
- Planning and evaluating the team’s activities in order to ensure a safe, secure and legal work environment. Perform other department duties related to his/her position as directed by the Head of the Department.
- Support internal / external project stakeholders at HIA, by providing recommendations and requirements on scope of work, design submittals / proposals, evaluation on the technical feasibility with its related order archive the projects completion date, projects deliverables and have smooth handover.
- Applies technical expertise in collaboration with team across the airport to ensure optimum performance of Mechanical assets in facilities under MATAR Facilities Management.
About you:
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent with minimum 8 years of job-related experience.
- Experience in large and complex work environment involving management of many internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience in buildings or and infrastructures facilities management.
- Experienced with managing design, construction and maintenance contract.
- Capable of working closely with Senior and Executive management.
- Sound knowledge of latest mechanical technologies, codes and standards.
- Sound knowledge and proven experience with mechanical systems, pump stations, water and sewage networks, firefighting systems, elevators, escalators, people and products moving systems, water plants, BMS, EMS.
